LAS VEGAS, NV – Upon the announcement by Congressional negotiators that a bipartisan infrastructure deal has finally been reached, Maria-Teresa Liebermann-Parraga, Deputy Director of Battle Born Progress, issued the following statement:
“It seems the elusive and long-anticipated ‘Infrastructure Week’ has come at last. As we await further details about what will be included in the Build Back Better package, we are optimistic that this deal can move Nevada and our country in the right direction of rebuilding outdated highways, ports, and trails, creating jobs in the construction, maintenance, and transition to clean energy, extending broadband access to underserved communities, and supporting working families through access to child care and early childhood education. We are hopeful of other priorities, such as lowering the cost of prescription drugs, Medicare negotiations, closing the Medicaid coverage gap, and raising taxes on the rich to pay for this package. We look forward to hearing from our own Congressional delegation about what this bipartisan infrastructure package will contain for Nevada, and eagerly await a vote either tonight or later this week.”
