Brady President Kris Brown to Headline Battle Born Progress’ Annual Progressive Summit

All press wishing to attend must RSVP HERE

NEVADA – This coming weekend, Battle Born Progress will hold it’s 8th annual Progressive Summit virtually, on Remo, featuring a keynote address from Kris Brown, President of Brady. The tentative agenda for the event, found here, will also feature remarks and panel discussions with members of Nevada’s congressional delegation and constitutional offices, including: Nevada Lieutenant Governor Lisa Cano Burkhead, Nevada Treasurer Zach Conine, Mayor Daniel Corona, City of West Wendover, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03), Congresswoman Dina Titus (NV-01), Nevada Deputy Secretary of State Mark Wlaschin.

A veteran of gun violence prevention work, Kris Brown started her career on Capitol Hill working for Rep. Jim Moran, advocating for the bill that would eventually become the groundbreaking Brady Bill requiring background checks on federally licensed gun sales. At Brady, she has helped shape the conversation on gun violence as a national health care crisis, launched the organization’s groundbreaking safe storage campaign to End Family Fire, and formed Brady’s Team Enough youth initiative after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School massacre in Parkland, FL.

For eight years, the Progressive Summit has served as an educational hub for activists, community leaders, and elected officials to network throughout two days of workshops, training, breakout sessions, and keynote speeches to mobilize for creating change in the coming year.

As Nevada’s 2022 midterm election attracts the attention of journalists and pundits nationwide, Nevada progressives are keenly aware of the challenges facing our state and our country today, namely, working families struggling to get back on their feet during this period of economic recovery. Meanwhile, attacks on our elections by the militant MAGA faction, including weaponized disinformation campaigns threaten the very system by which working Nevadans can hold their leaders accountable for prioritizing their interests over the ultra-rich and corporations. Nevadans from across the state are invited to participate in this year’s program, which will focus on equipping activists and advocates for being effective communicators and organizers for change during the coming year. A full roster and schedule of speakers and sessions can be found here.

Attendee tickets for the 2022 Virtual Progressive Summit are $15 for both days. The $15 pass includes a BBP Survival Kit of fun goodies to be mailed to purchasers.
