VoteSmartNV launches nonpartisan voter guide ahead of the 2020 primary elections
NEVADA – With 2020 being a critically important election year, happening in the shadow of an unprecedented global pandemic, Silver State Voices and Institute for a Progressive Nevada have released their biannual, nonpartisan voter guide for the 2020 primary elections. This is the first time the VoteSmartNV voter guide has launched in time for a primary election, and intends to inform voters on candidates’ positions based on their response to standardized survey questions about various issues. This guide also features information about voting by mail.
“As we head into an important election year in the midst of an unprecedented public health crisis, resources like this guide are more vital to our communities than ever before,” said Emily Persaud-Zamora, Executive Director of Silver State Voices. “Voters deserve easy access to information about who is on the ballot and where they stand on issues that are important to them. I encourage all Nevada voters to check out votesmartnv.org before they cast their vote by mail or in-person for this year’s slate of primary candidates.”
“Voting is the most critical right and responsibility citizens have in our democracy,” said Institute for a Progressive Nevada Executive Director, Annette Magnus. “Our democracy works best when voters are educated and informed about their choices. Especially at a time when many Nevada families are struggling to make ends meet while socially apart, we hope this voter guide will act as an important resource to make voters’ decisions during this primary easier.”

About: This is a non-partisan voter guide – all candidates that have filed for the offices listed were asked to submit answers to the same set of questions. All candidates who responded have their answers listed, unedited, on their respective candidate page. We do not support, oppose or endorse any candidate, campaign, or political party. In 2018, the VoteSmartNV Voter Guide was accessed by over 23,000 Nevada voters statewide and reached nearly 3 million combined viewers via ads on Facebook and Spotify.
Spokespeople in Spanish or English are available for individual interviews.
