LAS VEGAS, NV – With mail ballots starting to hit Nevadans’ mailboxes less than a month before Election Day, Battle Born Progress has launched it’s 2020 Ballot Guide, announcing the organization’s position on each of the five* Ballot Questions found on the 2020 general election ballot.

Annette Magnus, Executive Director of Battle Born Progress, said:
“We’re proud to once again provide this handy resource for Nevada voters to help them make their choice on the five critical Ballot Questions before us this year. We are supporting a ‘YES’ vote on each question because we believe that each question serves a purpose in moving Nevada forward on issues of education, equality, criminal justice reform, voting rights, and promoting clean energy.”
“Question 1 will introduce some much-needed accountability to the Board of Regents and higher education institutions in the state in order to serve the best interests for our students.
Question 2, we are proud to support, along with our coalition of partner organizations, to remove outdated and discriminatory language from the Nevada Constitution around marriage, and affirm that all marriages should be recognized, regardless of gender.
Question 3 is a common-sense measure to help the State Board of Pardons Commissioners have more flexibility and to seek alternatives to incarceration in our criminal justice system.
Given the attacks on election integrity and voter participation around the country, Question 4 is vital to secure various protections for voters and their rights. Nevada has taken massive steps forward on voting rights, and Question 4 helps solidify those victories by strengthening those rights.
And finally, we are proud to once again support Question 6 for a 50% renewable portfolio standard by 2030, a staple policy for Nevada’s climate action strategy. We worked hard to help pass Question 6 in 2018 and look forward to working toward a repeat passage this year to protect our state from the harms of greenhouse gas emissions and facilitate clean energy production across the state.”
*Ballot Questions are numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6. There is no Question 5 this year so that Question 6 can retain its number from 2018.
Spokespeople in Spanish or English are available for individual interviews.
